Removal the phase sensor (Chevrolet Lanos T150)

We remove the phase sensor to check or replace it.

With the ignition off…

…we press the lock of the engine control system wiring harness connector (the crankcase ventilation…


…we press the lock of the engine control system wiring harness connector (the crankcase ventilation hose has been removed from the cylinder head cover pipe for clarity)…

… and disconnect the wiring harness connector from the sensor.


… and disconnect the wiring harness connector from the sensor.

Using a 12 mm socket, unscrew the bolt securing the sensor to the camshaft bearing housing…

…and we remove the sensor from the shaft bearing housing socket.

The connection between the sensor and the camshaft bearing housing is sealed with a rubber ring.…


The connection between the sensor and the camshaft bearing housing is sealed with a rubber ring. Checking the phase sensor is shown in the section Troubleshooting.

Before installing the sensor, clean its socket in the camshaft bearing housing from dirt. Install the phase sensor in the reverse order.

If the sensor sealing ring is damaged or the rubber has lost its elasticity, replace the ring with a new one. Tighten the phase sensor mounting bolt with a torque of 8–12 N·m.
