Adjusting the front door lock (Chevrolet Niva 1)

            0

For normal operation of the lock, adjust the position of the lock retainer housing 6, having first loosened the fastening bolts.

Before adjusting the lock, it is recommended to outline the contours of the retainer on the body pillar.

If the door closes too tightly, loosen the retainer mounting bolts, move it outward and tighten the bolts. If the door closes loosely, move the retainer inward. The door should not sink or protrude relative to the body.

If the door rises when closing (sag in open position), lower the lock.

If the door does not open properly with the inside handle, adjust the position of the inside drive rod. To do this, disconnect the bracket 7 (see figure 8-41) from the rod, without loosening the screws securing the handle, move the rod as far back as possible and secure the bracket to the rod.
