Description and testing of the central lock (Chevrolet Lumina 1)

            0

The central lock operates electric drives installed in each door. The system consists of switches, electric drives and wires. Since the system is quite complex, repairs should be carried out in a workshop. However, the vehicle owner has the ability to perform simple electrical and vacuum connection checks to troubleshoot minor problems. These operations include:
  • a) Checking the fuses and/or circuit breaker of the system.
  • b) Checking the integrity of the wires, the reliability of the switch connections and checking the serviceability of the latter.
  • c) Removing door panels and checking drive connectors; their integrity and reliability of connections are checked. It is also necessary to check the rod connections (if they exist) for defects and reliability. Check the integrity and reliability of the electric drive wire connections. The electric drive is checked by briefly applying voltage from the battery. A distinct click indicates normal operation of the solenoid.
