1994 vehicles are equipped with the SRS system, better known as "airbag". This system is designed to prevent serious injury to the driver in a frontal collision at an angle of up to 30°relative to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. The system includes a cylinder for filling the airbag located in the center of the steering wheel, a squib and a front recognition sensor located in the front, as well as a recognition sensor and a backup power supply for the diagnostic system (DERM), installed in the vehicle interior.
On vehicles with an air bag, DO NOT remove the steering wheel without first locking the airbag or removing it from the steering wheel in a workshop. Failure to do so may cause the air bag to deploy accidentally, resulting in serious injury.
