1. Disconnect the wire from the terminal «minus» battery.
WARNING: Attempting to remove the airbag module without disconnecting power to it may result in unexpected airbag deployment.
It is possible to proceed with the following operations to remove the airbag only after the activator capacitor is completely discharged. To discharge the capacitor, you must wait at least 15 minutes after turning off the power supply.
2. Turn the steering wheel so that the holes on the back of the lower spoke are on top.
NOTE: The two holes through which the spring holders of the airbag module are pressed are located on the rear side of the lower steering wheel spoke (view of the rear side of the removed steering wheel).
3. Insert two rods into the holes in the steering wheel cover...
4.... and press the left and right holders of the airbag module.
NOTE: This is how the driver's airbag module holders are located (view of the rear side of the removed module).
5. Move the module away from the hub.
6. Pull out the module harness block retainer.
7. Disconnect the block from the module outputs and remove the airbag module from the steering wheel.
WARNING: Do not disassemble the airbag module.
Do not drop the airbag module or allow water, grease or oil to come into contact with it.
The airbag module must not be exposed to temperatures above 95°C.
8. Install the driver's airbag in the reverse order of removal.
