1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.
WARNINGS: Attempting to remove the air bag module without disconnecting its power supply may result in unexpected air bag deployment.
The following operations for removing the airbag can be started only after the activator capacitor has been completely discharged. To discharge the capacitor, it is necessary to wait at least 15 minutes after disconnecting the power supply.
2. Turn the steering wheel so that the holes on the back of the lower spoke are facing up.

NOTE: The two holes through which the air bag module spring retainers are pressed are located on the rear side of the lower spoke of the steering wheel (view of the back of the removed steering wheel).

3. Insert two rods into the holes in the steering wheel cover...

4. ...and press the left and right airbag module holders.

NOTE: This is how the driver airbag module holders are located (view of the back side of the removed module).

5. Move the module away from the hub.

6. Pull out the module wiring harness connector retainer.

7. Disconnect the connector from the module terminals and remove the airbag module from the steering wheel.
WARNINGS: Do not disassemble the airbag module.
The airbag module must not be dropped or exposed to water, grease or oil.
The airbag module must not be exposed to temperatures above 95°C.

8. Install the driver's airbag in the reverse order of removal.
