1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.
WARNINGS: Attempting to remove the air bag module without disconnecting its power supply may result in unexpected air bag deployment.
The following operations for removing the airbag can be started only after the activator capacitor has been completely discharged. To discharge the capacitor, it is necessary to wait at least 15 minutes after disconnecting the power supply.

2. Remove the lower storage compartment (see "Removal and installation storage boxes", p. 282).

3. Pull out the front passenger airbag wiring harness connector retainer...

4. ...and disconnect the connector.

5. Remove the two bolts securing the front passenger airbag to the instrument panel frame.

6. Remove the upper screw securing the right decorative trim on the instrument panel.

7. Pry up the edge of the right end trim of the instrument panel and remove the trim, overcoming the resistance of the spring clips.

8. Remove the second screw securing the decorative trim.

9. Disengage the frame latch from the edge of the right decorative trim...

10. ...and detach the trim from the instrument panel frame, overcoming the resistance of the spring clips.

11. Squeeze the release tab and disconnect the wire harness connector from the audio input connector.

12. Press the lock and disconnect the wiring harness connector from the USB connector.

13. Remove the right instrument panel trim panel assembly with the front passenger airbag module.

14. Disengage the plastic clips on the airbag module housing from the holes in the panel trim and remove the module.
WARNINGS: Do not disassemble the airbag module.
The airbag module must not be dropped or exposed to water, grease or oil.
The airbag module must not be exposed to temperatures above 95°C.

15. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
