1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Remove the driver's airbag module (see "Removal and installation the driver's airbag").
WARNINGS: Attempting to remove the air bag module without disconnecting its power supply may result in unexpected air bag deployment.
The following operations for removing the airbag can be started only after the activator capacitor has been completely discharged. To discharge the capacitor, it is necessary to wait at least 15 minutes after disconnecting the power supply.

3. Remove the steering wheel (see "Removal and installation the steering wheel") and steering column cover (see "Removal and installation the steering column cover").

4. Secure the contact ring from turning with masking tape or electrical tape.

5. Press the clamps and disconnect the wiring harness connectors from the connectors located at the top of the contact ring.

6. Press the lock and disconnect the wiring harness connector from the connector located at the bottom of the contact ring.

7. Remove the four screws securing the airbag contact ring to the steering column switch connector...

8. ...and remove the contact ring.
9. Install the contact ring in the reverse order of removal.
