You will need a rod of the appropriate diameter.
1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.
Warnings: Special equipment and tooling are required to diagnose and repair the electronic passive safety systems (SRS). If they fail, contact a specialized service station. To avoid injury from unauthorized activation of pyrotechnic charges, do not disassemble the system components yourself. However, when repairing the steering, electrical equipment and body, the driver's airbag module may interfere with the work. If it is necessary to remove and install it, you can do the work yourself, strictly adhering to the following rules for operating the system:
- disconnect the battery before starting work. Attempting to remove the airbag without disconnecting the power supply may result in unexpected airbag deployment;
- you can proceed to the following operations to remove the airbag only after the activator capacitor has been completely discharged. To discharge the capacitor, you must wait at least 10 seconds after disconnecting the wire from the negative terminal of the battery,
- disassembling the airbag module is prohibited;
- the airbag module must not fall or come into contact with water, grease or oil;
- the airbag module removed from the vehicle must be stored on a flat horizontal surface with the module facing up;
- the airbag module must not be exposed to temperatures above 95°C.

2. Turn the steering wheel 180° from the straight-ahead position.

3. Using a rod of suitable diameter, press the airbag module fasteners towards the center, pulling the module towards you.

Note: The airbag module retainers are pressed through these holes using a rod. For clarity, shown with the steering wheel removed. When pressing the retainers, the springs are activated, so hold the module during this operation.

4. Move the module away from the steering wheel hub.

5. Slide the harness connector retainer to the airbag module...

6. ...and separate the pads.
7. Remove the driver's airbag module.
8. Install the driver's airbag in the reverse order of removal.
Warnings: When installing the module in the vehicle steering wheel, be outside the airbag deployment area.
When turning on the ignition for the first time after installing the airbag module in the vehicle, stand outside the vehicle and turn on the ignition switch by reaching under the lower steering column cover.
