1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Using a screwdriver, push out the piston core of the left side panel of the floor tunnel trim...

3. ...and remove the piston.

4. Remove the left side panel of the floor tunnel trim, overcoming the force of the clamps.

5. Pull the air duct supplying air to the left rear passenger's feet up and, sliding it off the pipes, remove it.

6. Pry up the edge of the right side panel of the floor tunnel trim...

7. ...and remove the side panel, overcoming the force of the clamps.

8. Pull up the air duct supplying air to the feet of the right rear passenger and, sliding it off the pipes, remove it.

9. Slide the lock of the front connector of the electronic unit wire harness back.

10. Press the latch...

11. ...and move the shoe lock bracket back until it stops.

12. Disconnect the connector from the block.

13. Disconnect the rear shoe from the block in the same way.

14. Unscrew the two nuts securing the block to the body base on the left side...

15. ...and one nut on the right side.

16. Remove the block.
17. Install the passive restraint system control unit in the reverse order. There is no arrow on the unit label indicating the direction of installation, as the unit can only be installed in one position due to its asymmetrical shape.
