Central lock (Chevrolet Captiva 1)

The central door locking system is activated from the driver's door panel. This system allows all doors to be locked and unlocked from the driver's door panel using the key, remote control (from the outside) or the door lock button (from the inside).

The doors can also be locked and unlocked using the door lock switches on the driver's door trim.

To lock the doors, press the right side of the switch.

To unlock the doors, press the left side of the switch.

To unlock the door from the inside or outside, pull the door handle.

Note: It is necessary to lubricate door locks and hinges after a specified period of time, or if extraneous noise is heard when opening, closing the door or during movement


The driver's and front passenger's doors can be opened from the outside by pulling the door handle, even if the door is locked using the door lock button.

For additional security when leaving the vehicle, you can lock the doors if the vehicle is equipped with an additional anti-theft system.



The deadlock causes all electric locks to be electronically locked, so no door can be opened even if the passenger compartment is breached by breaking the glass.

Warning: Do not use deadlock if there are people left in the vehicle. The doors cannot be unlocked from the inside.


Enabling deadlock


  • Press the "LOCK" button twice in a row. Press the "LOCK" button once to lock the car, and then again (in 3 seconds), to enable deadlock.
  • Insert the key into the driver's door lock and turn it twice in a row towards the rear of the car. That is, the first press locks the doors, and the second press activates the deadlock.

To disable the deadlock, press the "UNLOCK" button on the key. This will unlock all doors.

Note: The deadlock function is only activated when the hood, rear doors and side doors are closed.


Note: The deadlock is disabled when the doors are unlocked in the normal manner.

Caution: Do not pull the inside door handle when the child safety lock is in the LOCK position. This may damage the inside door handle.


Warning: Use child safety locks if there is a child in the rear seat.




You can use a key or a suitable screwdriver.

To activate the child safety locks on the doors, turn the child safety locks to the horizontal position.

When the child lock protection is activated, the rear door can be opened from the outside.

To disable the child safety locks on the doors, turn the child safety locks to the vertical position.
