Keyless unlocking

Approach the front door with the remote control within 1 m and press the button on the door handle to unlock and open the door. If the remote control is recognized, the door will unlock and open.
Note: The button on the door handle is for keyless entry only. When you leave the vehicle, lock all doors by pressing the lock button on the remote control or make sure the keyless entry function is activated.

The ignition control knob can be turned to four different positions.
The remote control must be inside the vehicle when the ignition control knob is turned.
1: LOCK (LOCK, off)
2: ACC position
3: ON
4: START position
- Manual transmission: Depress the clutch. Turn the ignition control knob to the START position, pressing the clutch pedal and releasing the electric parking brake switch, keeping the brake pedal depressed when the engine starts.
- Automatic transmission: Move the gearshift lever to position P (Park) or N (neutral). The engine will not start in any other position. To restart the engine on a moving vehicle, only position N should be selected (neutral). If your vehicle is equipped with a keyless entry system, you must hold down the brake pedal to start the engine.
- Diesel engine: Turn the ignition control knob to the ON position to activate the preheating until the W indicator goes out.
Turn the ignition control knob to the START position.
When the engine begins to crank, release the ignition control knob and it will return to the ON position.
If the ignition control knob does not turn, try pressing the knob and turning it again.
If the remote control is not in the vehicle or something is interfering with the remote control, the driver information display (DIC) in the center of the instrument cluster will display the message ELECTRONIC KEY NOT DETECTED (ELECTRONIC KEY NOT DETECTED).
Keyless locking
The doors will lock after a few seconds if the ignition is switched off, all doors are closed and at least one remote control has been removed from the vehicle.
At self-service petrol stations, if the driver exits the vehicle with the remote control, all doors, as well as
the fuel filler flap and tailgate will be locked in a few seconds. Press the button on the door handle or press the button on the remote control to unlock all doors as well as the fuel filler flap and tailgate during or after refueling.
Programming remote controls on a car
Only the remote controls programmed on the vehicle will work. If the remote control is lost or stolen, you can purchase a replacement remote and program it from your dealer. The vehicle can be reprogrammed so that lost or stolen remote controls no longer work.
Starting a car engine with a dead remote control battery

If the remote control battery is low, the DIC display in the center of the instrument cluster may show the message ELECTRONIC KEY NOT DETECTED(ELECTRONIC KEY NOT DETECTED), when you try to start the engine. To start the engine, place the remote control with the buttons facing up in the remote pocket in the storage compartment on the center console. Then, with the gearshift lever in the P (Park) or N position, (neutral), press the brake pedal and turn the ignition control knob. Replace the battery in the remote control as soon as possible.
