Tailgate
The tailgate can be locked or unlocked using the central door locking system.
See central locking.
Make sure that no hands or other body parts get in the way of the closing lid.
Warning: When driving with the tailgate or rear window open, exhaust gases may enter the passenger compartment. Driving with the rear door open is prohibited.
Exhaust gases are toxic and can cause poisoning and death.
Attention: When opening or closing the door, make sure that nothing is obstructing the movement of the door.
On vehicles with keyless entry, if the vehicle is locked, the remote control must be within 1 m of the tailgate in order to be recognized; the tailgate can then be opened with the tailgate release button above the number plate.
Note: When the tailgate is unlocked with the tailgate release button, all other doors will also be unlocked. After closing the tailgate, be sure to press the lock button on the remote control to secure the vehicle.
Tailgate window release button
The rear window can be opened by pressing the rear window release button located on the driver's door trim.
The rear window can also be opened by pressing the rear window unlock button on the remote control key. See Remote control.
After opening, grasp the rear window handle and raise the hood.
To close the rear window, lower it and lock it securely. The lid locks automatically.
Warning: Do not touch the rear window release button while driving. Driving with the rear window open is prohibited.
