Security indicator

Security indicator

Works when the anti-theft system is on.

The anti-theft alarm indicator turns off when the doors are unlocked with the key or the remote control transmitter.

The anti-theft system indicator comes on when the doors are locked using the remote control or key.

Activation of door locks and anti-theft system

Turning on

1. Close all windows.

2. Turn the ignition key to the LOCK position and remove the key.

3. Allow all passengers to exit the vehicle.

4. Close the hood, side and rear doors.

5. Press and release the "LOCK" button on the remote control.

The LED on the transmitter flashes once.
  • All doors are locked.
  • The hazard warning lights flash once.
  • The anti-theft protection mode is activated after approximately 30 seconds. If the key is in the ignition, the remote control will not activate the anti-theft system.

Note: This system is activated even if the windows are open. Before leaving the vehicle, close all windows and doors.

Note: If the "LOCK" button on the remote control is pressed while the hood, side doors and rear doors are not fully closed, the anti-theft alarm system will be released and the anti-theft alarm indicator will flash rapidly.

The anti-theft system goes into the locked state if the hood, rear and side doors are completely closed.

In this state, the anti-theft indicator lights up without blinking. If the "LOCK" button is pressed after closing the hood, rear and side doors, the system goes into the locked state with a constantly lit indicator, bypassing the open state.

Note: The anti-theft system is activated after the doors are closed manually or using the remote control.

1. Make sure that the anti-theft indicator starts to flash slowly approximately 30 seconds after the system enters the locked state. If you press the "LOCK" button on the remote control a second time, the anti-theft system will be activated immediately without a 30-second delay. The anti-theft indicator is located on the right side of the clock.

Warning: Do not lock the vehicle if anyone is left in it. Never leave children or animals unattended in the vehicle. The temperature inside the vehicle rises very quickly and can be much higher than the outside temperature. This can cause serious injury or death.

Sound signal

When attempting to open the hood, trunk or tailgate without using the key or the release button on the remote control, the system will turn on the visual warning light for approximately 30 seconds (flashing of external headlights) and sound signaling.

Turning off the sound alarm:
  • Press the "LOCK" or "UNLOCK" button on the remote control.
  • Unlock the driver's door with the key. (In some country versions, this action does not turn off the sound signal. To turn off the sound, press LOCK or UNLOCK.) If the unauthorized entry attempt continues, the sound signal will beep again periodically.

If the system does not work as described, you should contact a service station to check its functionality. We recommend contacting an authorized service center.

Siren

If your car is fitted with the optional anti-theft system under Thatcham insurance, it must be fitted with an intrusion alarm, tilt alarm and glass breakage alarm.

With the help of these sensors, the anti-theft system monitors the situation and, if it detects intrusion into the interior, theft of wheels or unauthorized towing of the vehicle, it turns on the siren.

To turn off the siren:
  • Press the "LOCK" or "UNLOCK" button on the remote control.

If the threat of unauthorized entry persists, the siren will periodically turn on again.

Note: If you open the door with the key while the alarm is on, the siren will sound. Open the door using the "UNLOCK" button on the remote control.

Note: Knock on the keyhole or heat the key if the door lock does not open due to freezing in cold weather.

Warning: Do not use the remote control to lock the vehicle doors if there is anyone left inside.

The signal from the radio key fob activates the anti-theft alarm, so when movement is detected in the car, the siren will turn on.

Do not leave children or animals unattended in the cabin.

The temperature inside the car rises very quickly and can significantly exceed the outside temperature. This can cause serious injury or death.

If you need to turn off the additional anti-theft system, press the button on the roof lining. The indicator will turn on disabled anti-theft system.

Unlocking door locks and anti-theft system

Disconnection

2. Press and release the "UNLOCK" button on the remote control.
  • The LED on the transmitter flashes once.
  • All doors are unlocked.
  • The hazard warning lights flash twice.
  • The anti-theft protection mode is removed.

In some market trims, unlocking the driver's door with the key will activate the siren. Press the "UNLOCK" button on the key fob to unlock the doors.

Automatic door lock re-locking

If no door is opened or the engine is not started within 30 seconds after the anti-theft system is disabled using the remote control, all doors are automatically locked and the anti-theft system is reactivated.

Type 2

Turning on

To activate the system, press the lock button on the remote control.

The anti-theft system is activated 30 seconds after locking using the remote control.

To activate the system, make sure all doors, hood and trunk are locked.

To prevent the alarm from being triggered when the tailgate is opened, press the tailgate release button above the license plate. The remote control must be within 1 m of the tailgate.
