2. To activate the system:
a) Open the door and lock the car using the central locking switch, or lock the car using the remote control (additional equipment). The anti-theft alarm system indicator will start flashing.
b) Close all doors. The anti-theft alarm system indicator will turn off after about 30 seconds. When the indicator goes out, it means the anti-theft alarm system is armed. If a locked door is opened by any means other than using a key or remote control, the anti-theft alarm system will be activated.
3. Depending on how the system has been programmed using the Driver Information Center, a chime may sound and the headlights may flash.
4. The anti-theft alarm system will not be activated if you lock the doors using the key or mechanical locking levers, or if you lock the doors from the inside using the central locking switch after all the doors have been closed.
5. To avoid the system being triggered, you must open the door with a key or remote control.
6. If the alarm is accidentally activated, you can turn it off by opening any door with the key, starting the engine or pressing the unlock button on the remote control.
7. To check the system:
a) Lower the window and open the door.
b) Lock the doors using the central locking switch or the remote control
c) Close the door and wait about 30 seconds until the anti-theft alarm system indicator goes out.
d) After this, put your hand through the open window and open the door using the inside handle.
e) Open the door. The alarm system's siren should sound.
8. If the horn does not work, its fuse may be blown.
9. If the anti-theft alarm siren still does not sound, or if the headlights do not flash, contact your dealer to have the system serviced.
10. When the anti-theft alarm system is activated, the central locking switch does not work to unlock the doors.
