Warning: In a crash, your vehicle's restraint systems may be damaged. A damaged restraint system cannot properly protect the occupant using it. After an accident, the restraint systems must be checked at a service station. Replace damaged restraint system components as soon as possible.
Seat belt pretensioners
1. Your vehicle is equipped with seat belt pretensioners. Pretensioners help tighten seat belts early in a moderate to severe frontal or near-frontal collision if pretensioner deployment thresholds are met. They also provide tension to the belts in the event of a side impact or vehicle rollover.
2. Pretensioners are built into the driver and front passenger seat belts. Pretensioners are single-use devices. After an accident they need to be replaced.
Airbags
3. Your vehicle is equipped with two airbags, located in the steering wheel hub and on the right side of the instrument panel, which are deployed in the event of a frontal impact (see illustration). The front airbags have two stages of inflation depending on the severity of the collision. In moderate frontal impacts, the airbags inflate partially. In severe frontal impacts, the airbag inflates completely.
3.3 Your vehicle is equipped with two airbags, located in the steering wheel hub and on the right side of the instrument panel
4. Vehicles equipped with dual-stage airbags also have electronic sensors that help distinguish between a moderate-severity frontal collision and a more severe impact.
5. Vehicles equipped with dual-stage airbags also have seat position sensors that help determine whether the airbag should be partially inflated or fully inflated.
6. Your vehicle is also equipped with two ceiling-mounted side curtain airbags that can deploy in the event of a side impact or rollover (see illustration). These airbags are designed to provide additional protection for the driver, front passenger and passengers in the rear outer seats.
3.6 Your vehicle is also equipped with two roof-mounted side curtain airbags
7. If power from the battery is still available after an accident, the door locks may automatically unlock and the interior lights may turn on when the airbags are deployed. If the airbags are deployed, the hazard warning lights will also come on. To turn it off, press the hazard warning button.
Warning:
- The combined action of seat belts and airbags provides the best protection for the driver and adult passengers in the event of an accident.
- A person who comes close to or is in the vicinity of an airbag may be seriously or fatally injured when it inflates.
