Electric headlight corrector (Chevrolet Orlando 1)

            0

The electric headlight corrector is designed to remotely change the angle of the headlight beams in the vertical plane. The need to adjust this angle may arise when the vehicle load changes. The electric corrector consists of a control unit and two electric drives installed in the headlights.

The headlight corrector control unit is installed on the instrument panel to the left of the steering column.

Electric drives are built into the headlights. The headlight is non-separable and in case of electric drive failure is replaced as a whole.

Warning! Always set the headlight range control to the position corresponding to the vehicle load (see below), as blinding the driver of an oncoming vehicle may lead to serious consequences!

To properly illuminate the road and prevent blinding drivers of other vehicles, turn the regulator so that the number corresponding to the vehicle load is opposite the mark on the regulator body:
  • 0 - one or both front seats are occupied, there is no cargo in the luggage compartment;
  • 1 - all seats are occupied, there is no cargo in the luggage compartment;
  • 2 - one driver, luggage compartment is fully loaded;
  • 3 - all seats are occupied, the luggage compartment is fully loaded.

If you cannot adjust the beam of one headlight, its electric drive is probably faulty or there is a break in the electrical circuit. If the electric correctors of both headlights do not work, you should check the fuse Ef53 10 A and Ef54 5 A installed in the fuse and relay box in the engine compartment. If Ef53 is faulty, the auto-dimming interior mirror will also not work (if included in the package), and if Ef54 is faulty, the air conditioning system will also not work.

We replace the faulty fuse. If the fuse blows again, we look for a short circuit in the electrical system. If the fuse is intact, the headlight range control unit is most likely faulty. It is not repairable and must be replaced as an assembly.
