Wiper

Wiper

To operate the rear window wiper, turn the ignition switch to the "ACC" or "ON" position and rotate the end of the windshield wiper/washer lever forward.

The rear windshield wiper switch has three positions:
  • OFF: The system is turned off. Standard position.
  • INT (intermittent mode): intermittent wiper operation.
  • LO (low speed): continuous mode, low speed.

Washer

Washer

To spray washer fluid onto the rear window, press and hold the button on the end of the lever until the washers begin to spray. When you release the button, the washers will stop but the wipers will spray three more times.

Caution: Failure to provide proper visibility to the driver may result in a collision resulting in injury, vehicle damage or other property damage.

Do not operate the rear window wiper if the glass is dry or if the wiper operation is obstructed, for example by snow or ice. Operating the wiper with obstructions on the glass may damage the wiper blades and motor, as well as the glass surface.

In cold weather, before turning on the wiper, check that the blade is not frozen to the glass. Turning on the wiper with frozen blades can damage the wiper motor.

Do not spray washer fluid on the rear window in freezing weather. Warm up the rear window before turning on the washer.

Rear microprocessor wiper

To improve rear visibility, the rear window wiper will automatically turn on when reverse gear is engaged while the windscreen wiper is on.

Caution: Washer fluid may freeze on the rear window and impair rear visibility.

Do not operate the tailgate window washer continuously for more than a few seconds or operate it when the washer reservoir is empty. This may cause the washer motor to overheat and cause costly repairs.
