Windshield wiper
To turn on the windshield wipers, turn the ignition key to the ON position and move the windshield wiper/washer lever up.
- HIGH: continuous mode, high speed.
- LOW: continuous mode, low speed.
- INTER: intermittent operation.
- OFF: The system is off.
- FOG: Momentary activation.
Momentary activation
To turn on the wipers once in light rain or fog, lightly push the wiper/washer lever down and release.
When released, the lever automatically returns to its normal position.
In this case, the brushes will work one cycle.
Caution: Lack of proper vision of the driver may result in a collision resulting in personal injury, vehicle damage or other property damage.
Do not operate the windshield wiper if the glass is dry or if the windshield wipers are difficult to operate, for example due to snow or ice. Operating the wiper in the presence of mechanical obstacles on the windshield can damage the wiper blades and motor, as well as the glass surface.
In cold weather, before turning on the cleaner, check that the brushes are not frozen to the glass. Operating the wiper with frozen blades can damage the wiper motor.
Automatic mode with rain sensor
The rain sensor measures the amount of water on the windshield and automatically adjusts the wipers.
To activate the automatic wipers, move the windshield wiper/washer lever to the position "AUTO".
The sensitivity of this system is adjusted by turning the rim of the windshield wiper/washer lever.
To turn off the automatic wipers, move the windshield wiper/washer lever to the position "OFF".
Attention: On a car with a rain sensor, it is forbidden to turn on the windshield wipers or their automatic operation in a car wash. This could damage the blades or wiper system.
When the ignition switch is turned to the position "ACC" the wipers are automatically turned on once to check the system if the wiper lever is in the position "AUTO".
To ensure proper operation of the rain sensor, the working area of the sensor must be free of dust and dirt. Vehicles with a rain sensor installed can be identified by the sensor area at the top of the windshield.
Windshield wipers do not work if the automatic transmission selector is in position N (neutral gear) or vehicle speed does not exceed 5 km/h.
Windshield washer
Pull the lever. The washer fluid is sprayed onto the windshield and the wipers make several strokes.
Attention: Do not operate the windshield washer continuously for more than a few seconds, or operate with an empty washer reservoir. This can lead to overheating of the washer motor and costly repairs.
Warning: Do not spray washer fluid on the windshield in freezing weather. In freezing weather, the use of washer fluid and windshield wipers can lead to an accident as the fluid may freeze on the windshield and obscure visibility.
