Windscreen wiper

To turn on the windshield wipers, turn the ignition key to the ON position and push the windshield wiper/washer lever up.
- HIGH: continuous mode, high speed.
- LOW: Continuous mode, low speed.
- INTERMITTENT: intermittent operation mode.
- OFF: The system is turned off.
- FOG: Short-term activation.
Short-term switching on
To operate the wipers once in light rain or fog, lightly press the wiper/washer lever down and release.
When released, the lever automatically returns to its normal position.
In this case, the brushes will work for one cycle.
Caution: Failure to provide proper visibility to the driver may result in a collision resulting in injury, vehicle damage or other property damage.
Do not operate the windshield wiper if the glass is dry or if the operation of the windshield wipers is obstructed, for example, by snow or ice. Operating the windshield wiper in the presence of mechanical obstructions on the windshield may damage the wiper blades and motor, as well as the surface of the glass.
In cold weather, before turning on the wiper, check that the blades are not frozen to the glass. Turning on the wiper with frozen blades can damage the wiper motor.
Automatic mode with rain sensor

The rain sensor measures the amount of water on the windshield and automatically adjusts the operation of the windshield wipers.
To activate the automatic windshield wiper mode, move the windshield wiper/washer lever to the "AUTO" position.
The sensitivity of this system is adjusted by turning the rim of the windshield wiper/washer lever.
To turn off the automatic windshield wiper mode, move the windshield wiper/washer lever to the "OFF" position.
Warning: Do not use the windshield wipers or their automatic mode in a car wash on a vehicle with a rain sensor. This may damage the wiper blades or the windshield wiper system.
When the ignition switch is turned to the "ACC" position, the windshield wipers will automatically turn on once to test the system if the windshield wiper lever is in the "AUTO" position.
To ensure proper operation of the rain sensor, the sensor's operating area must be free of dust and dirt. Vehicles with a rain sensor installed can be identified by the sensor's operating area at the top of the windshield.
The windscreen wipers do not work if the automatic transmission gear selector is set to position N (neutral gear) or the vehicle speed does not exceed 5 km/h.
Windshield washer

Pull the lever. Washer fluid is sprayed onto the windshield and the wipers make several strokes.
Caution: Do not operate the windshield washer continuously for more than a few seconds or operate it with an empty washer reservoir. This may cause the washer motor to overheat and cause costly repairs.
Warning: Do not spray washer fluid on the windshield in freezing weather. Using washer fluid and wipers in freezing weather can cause an emergency because the fluid may freeze on the windshield and impair visibility.
