Electronic Engine Management System (EEMS) Controller (Chevrolet Captiva 1)

Removal procedure

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Disconnect the ECM connectors from the ECM.



3. Loosen the ECM bracket mounting nuts.

4. Remove the ECM controller together with the bracket from the battery shelf.



5. Unfasten the clamps securing the ECM to the bracket and separate the ECM from the bracket.

Installation procedure

1. Install the ECM controller onto the bracket.

2. Install the ECM controller together with the bracket on the battery shelf.

Tighten

Tighten the ECM bracket mounting nuts to 15 N·m (11 lb-ft).



3. Connect the ECM connectors to the ECM.

4. Connect the negative battery cable.

Caution: If the ECM has been replaced, perform ECM reprogramming.
