Removal procedure



1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the power steering pump. Follow section 6B, Power Steering Pump.

3. Remove the air conditioning compressor. Follow section 7B, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Systems Control.

4. Remove the air conditioning compressor rear mounting bracket bolts and the air conditioning compressor rear mounting bracket.

5. Remove the additional mounting bracket by removing the bolts.

6. Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor (CSP) connector.

7. Remove the crankshaft position sensor retaining screw.

8. Carefully rotate and remove the crankshaft position sensor from the engine block.

Installation procedure



1. Install the crankshaft position sensor into the engine block.

2. Install the crankshaft position sensor mounting bolt.

Tighten

Tighten the crankshaft position sensor mounting bolt to 8 N·m (71 lb-in).

3. Connect the CKP sensor connector.

3. Connect the CKP sensor connector.


4. Install the additional mounting bracket with bolts.

Tighten

Tighten the auxiliary mounting bracket bolts to 37 N·m (27 lb-ft).

Tighten the auxiliary mounting bracket bolts to 37 N·m (27 lb-ft).


5. Install the rear air conditioner mounting bracket.



Tighten

Tighten the air conditioner mounting bracket bolts to 35 N·m (26 lb-ft).

6. Install the air conditioning compressor. Follow section 7B, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Systems Control.

7. Install the power steering pump. Follow section 6B, Power Steering Pump.

8. Connect the negative battery cable.
