Removal procedure



1. Remove the accessory drive poly V-belt. See Section 1C1 "Engine Mechanical System" - FAM II 2.4D.

2. Remove the air cleaner assembly. See Section 1C1 "Engine Mechanical System" - FAM II 2.4D.

3. Place a drain pan underneath to catch the power steering fluid that will drain after the high pressure hose is disconnected from the power steering pump.

4. Disconnect the high pressure hose and feed hose from the power steering pump.

5. Remove the bolt on the right side of the front of the power steering pump. Release the rear right bolt and turn the bracket to the side.

Installation procedure



1. Install the power steering pump onto the vehicle and tighten the two long pump bolts.

Tighten

Tighten the steering pump bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).

2. Rotate the power steering pump bracket down and insert the bolt from the right side at the front.

Tighten

Tighten both bolts on the right side of the power steering pump bracket to 25 N·m (18 ft·lbs).

3. Connect the feed hose to the power steering pump.

4. Connect the high pressure hose fitting to the power steering pump.



Tighten

Tighten the high pressure hose fitting to 28 Nm (21 ft·lbs).

5. Install the air cleaner assembly. See Section 1C1 "Engine Mechanical System" - FAM II 2.4D.

6. Install the accessory drive poly V-belt. See Section 1C1 "Engine Mechanical System" - FAM II 2.4D.

7. Fill the reservoir with power steering fluid. See section 6A, "Power Steering System".

8. Bleed the power steering system. See section 6A, "Power Steering System".
