1. Turn the steering wheel all the way to the left and fill the steering hydraulic system with fluid up to the MIN·mark on the fluid level indicator.
Note: Always use DEXRON®-IID Power Steering Fluid for topping up or complete fluid changes. The use of an unsuitable fluid will damage hoses and seals and result in leakage.
2. Start the engine. Recheck the fluid level with the engine running at fast idle. If necessary, add fluid up to the MIN·mark.
3. Bleed the system by turning the steering wheel from side to side, but without reaching the stops on each side. Maintain fluid level at MIN. All air must be removed from the fluid before normal steering operation is achieved.
4. Set the wheels to the middle position. Let the engine run for another 2-3 minutes.
5. Carry out a test drive to ensure that the steering functions properly and that there is no noise.
6. Recheck the fluid level according to the instructions in paragraphs. 1 and 2. Verify that the fluid level is at the MAX mark after the system has stabilized at its normal operating temperature. Top up fluid if necessary.
