Removal procedure
1. Remove the gasket and nuts securing the front muffler pipe to the underbody catalytic converter (UCC).

2. Remove the gaskets and nuts securing both flanges of the rear muffler pipe.

3. Disconnect the front muffler from the rubber mounts.
4. Remove the front muffler.
5. Inspect the underbody catalytic converter and front muffler for holes, damage, open seams, or other defects that could allow exhaust fumes to enter the trunk or passenger compartment.

Installation procedure
1. Secure the front muffler to the rubber mounts.

2. Install nuts and gaskets on both flanges of the rear muffler pipe.
Tighten
Tighten the front muffler to rear muffler mounting nuts to 40 N·m (30 lb-ft).

3. Install the gasket and tighten the nuts securing the front muffler pipe to the underbody catalytic converter (UCC).
Tighten
Tighten the front muffler to underbody catalytic converter mounting nuts to 30 N·m (22 lb-ft).
