Removal procedure
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the lower engine shield.
3. Disconnect the lower heated oxygen sensor connector (2 row of cylinders).

4. Disconnect the lower heated oxygen sensor connector (1 row of cylinders).

5. Remove the screws securing the exhaust pipe bracket to the oil pan.

6. Remove the nuts securing the catalytic converter to the exhaust pipe of cylinder banks 1 and 2.
7. Remove the gasket between the catalytic converter and the exhaust pipe.

8. Remove the nuts (3 positions) securing the exhaust pipe to the underbody catalytic converter (UCC).
9. Remove the gasket between the exhaust pipe and the catalytic converter on the underbody.
10. Remove the front exhaust pipe.
11. Clean the sealing surfaces of the underbody catalytic converter (UCC) flange and the exhaust pipe.
12. Check the exhaust pipe for holes, damage, loose seams, or other defects that could allow exhaust fumes to enter the passenger compartment.

Installation procedure
1. Remove the nuts (3 positions) securing the exhaust pipe to the catalytic converter on the bottom and the gasket.
Tighten
Tighten the exhaust pipe to underbody catalytic converter mounting nuts to 30 N·m (22 lb-ft).

2. Install the nuts securing the catalytic converter flange to the exhaust pipe with gaskets on cylinder rows 1 and 2.
Tighten
Tighten the catalytic converter to exhaust pipe mounting nuts to 40 N·m (30 lb-ft).

3. Install the screws securing the exhaust pipe bracket to the oil pan.
Tighten
Tighten the exhaust pipe support bracket mounting bolts to 40 N·m (30 lb-ft).
4. Connect the lower heated oxygen sensor connectors.
5. Install the lower engine shield.
6. Connect the negative battery cable.
