2. Remove the oil pickup and the intake pipe (see illustration).

3. Clean the parts with solvent and dry with compressed air.
Warning! Don't forget to wear safety glasses.
4. If the oil pickup is damaged or has metal particles on it, replace it. The presence of multiple metal particles indicates a significant engine problem that needs to be addressed.
5. Ensure that the mating surfaces of the pipe flange and the engine block are clean and install the oil pickup using a new gasket.
6. Install the oil pan (see section 17).
7. Don't forget to add oil to the engine before starting it (see chapter 1, section 12).
