Removal and installation the oil filter flange and pressure regulator valve (Chevrolet Lumina 1)

1. Remove the oil filter (see chapter 1, section 12).

2. Remove the camshaft chain cover (see section 13).

3. Remove the four bolts securing the oil filter adapter to the timing cover. The cover is spring loaded, so loosen the bolts while holding it, then carefully release the spring pressure.

4. Remove the pressure regulator valve and spring (see illustration). To remove all remnants of the old gasket, use a special scraper.

5. Clean all parts with solvent and dry with compressed air.

Attention! Don't forget to protect your eyes. Check for signs of wear, scoring or valve warping.


6. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Don't forget to use a new gasket.

7. Tighten all bolts to the torque specified in the specifications in this chapter.

8. Start the engine and check for leaks.
