Removal procedure



1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the lower engine shield.

3. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector.

3. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector.


4. Unscrew the nuts securing the catalytic converter to the exhaust pipe.

5. Remove the bolt and nut from the exhaust pipe mounting bracket.

5. Remove the bolt and nut from the exhaust pipe mounting bracket.


6. Loosen the nuts securing the exhaust pipe to the catalytic converter located on the underbody (UCC).

7. Disconnect the exhaust pipe from the rubber mount.

8. Remove the exhaust pipe and gasket.

9. Clean the sealing surfaces of the underbody catalytic converter (UCC) flange and the exhaust pipe.

10. Check the exhaust pipe for holes, damage, loose seams, or other defects that could allow exhaust fumes to enter the passenger compartment.

Installation procedure



1. Secure the exhaust pipe using a rubber hanger.

2. Install the gasket and tighten the nuts securing the exhaust pipe to the underbody catalytic converter (UCC).

Tighten

Tighten the exhaust pipe to underbody catalytic converter mounting nuts to 30 N·m (22 lb-ft).

Tighten the exhaust pipe to underbody catalytic converter mounting nuts to 30 N·m (22 lb-ft).


3. Install the catalytic converter and gasket onto the exhaust pipe flange.

Tighten

Tighten the catalytic converter to exhaust pipe mounting nuts to 40 N·m (30 lb-ft).

Tighten the exhaust pipe mounting bracket bolt and nut to 40 N·m (30 lb-ft).

Tighten the exhaust pipe mounting bracket bolt and nut to 40 N·m (30 lb-ft).


4. Connect the rear heated oxygen sensor connector.



5. Install the lower engine shield.

6. Connect the negative battery cable.
