Replacing the outer rear door handle (Chevrolet Cruze J300)

You will need: TORX T20 and 10 keys, flat-head and Phillips-head screwdrivers.

1. Remove the rear door trim and moisture-proof film (see "Removal and installation the rear door trim").



2. Use a screwdriver to pry...

3. ...and remove the decorative plug.



4. While holding the outside handle in the door opening position, loosen the lock plug mounting screw...



5. ...and remove the lock plug from the door panel, overcoming the resistance of the holders.





6. Pull the handle back and remove it.



7. Fold back the outer handle rod retainer and disconnect the rod from the door lock lever.



8. Remove the screw securing the rear door outer handle frame.



9. Remove the outside handle frame by pulling it out of the mounting hole in the door panel.

10. Install the outer handle and all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
