Rear door outer handle (Chevrolet Captiva 1)

Removal procedure

1. Remove the door splash shield. See "Door splash guard" in this section.

2. Remove the screws from the outer rear door handle.



3. Unscrew the screw of the outer door handle through the hole in the end of the door.



4. Remove the outside door handle by sliding it back and pulling it away from the door.

5. If necessary, remove the gasket.

Installation procedure

1. Install a gasket if necessary.

Note: Direct contact of dissimilar metals may result in rapid corrosion. Use proper fasteners to avoid premature corrosion.

2. Install the handle by placing it in the desired position and sliding it back, making sure to hook it onto the outside door handle.



3. Tighten the screws of the outer door handle.

Tighten

Tighten the outer door handle screws to 4.5 Nm (40 lbs.in).
