Front door lock (Chevrolet Captiva 1)

Removal procedure

1. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.

2. Remove the front door trim. See "Front door trim panel" in this section.



3. Remove the splash shield. See "Door splash guard" in this section.

4. Remove the screws and the front door lock.

5. Disconnect the lock rods.

6. Disconnect the electrical connector.

Installation procedure

1. Connect the electrical connector.

2. Connect the lock rods.

Note: Direct contact of dissimilar metals may result in rapid corrosion. Use proper fasteners to avoid premature corrosion.

3. Install the front door lock using screws.

Tighten

Tighten the front door lock bolt to 10 Nm (89 lbs.in).



4. Install the splash guard. See "Door splash guard" in this section.

5. Install the front door trim. See "Front door trim panel" in this section.

6. Connect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery.
