1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Pry up the edge of the gearshift lever boot frame...

3. ... remove the frame from the floor tunnel lining socket, overcoming the resistance of its clamps, then turn the cover inside out and lift it up the lever.

4. Pull the edge of the decorative floor tunnel trim...

5. ...and remove the cover, overcoming the resistance of its clips.

6. Remove the two bolts securing the ashtray to the floor tunnel trim...

7. ...and remove the ashtray.

8. Use a screwdriver to pry up the edges of the instrument panel center trim...
Helpful Hint: To avoid damaging the decorative surface of the instrument panel, wrap the screwdriver blade with electrical tape.

9. ...and remove the cover, overcoming the elastic resistance of its spring holders.

10. Remove the four bolts securing the heating, air conditioning and ventilation control unit...

11. ...and move the control unit to the distance required to disconnect the wiring harness connectors.

12. Fold back the control unit wiring harness connector retainer...

13. ...and disconnect the connector from the block.

14. Similarly, disconnect the wiring harness connectors from the hazard warning light switch and central lock control buttons.

15. Remove the control unit.
16. Install the HVAC control panel in the reverse order of removal.
