1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Remove the refrigerant from the air conditioning system (see "Removal refrigerant from the air conditioning system").
3. Remove the condenser (see "Replacing the condenser").

4. The hole for replacing the filter element is closed with a threaded plug, unscrew it with a hex key and remove it from the receiver.
5. Remove the plug sealing ring.

6. Remove the mesh filter and old cartridge from the receiver body.
Warnings: Immediately after disconnecting the plug, plug the receiver-drier opening to prevent dirt and moisture from entering the system.
If particles of aluminum or plastic are found on the surface of the cartridge, it means that the pump part of the compressor has been destroyed. Replacing only the cartridge in this case will not give a positive result.
The compressor will need to be replaced with a system flush. This rather labor-intensive procedure can only be performed in a specialized service center using special technological equipment.

7. Open the sealed package and install the new cartridge into the receiver.

Warning: When purchasing a new filter element (cartridge), make sure it was stored in a sealed package. A filter element stored without packaging is not suitable for use, even if it is completely new and clean.

8. Lubricate the plug sealing rings with clean compressor oil. Screw the plug into the receiver.
9. Install the condenser in the reverse order of removal.
10. Have the air conditioning system refilled with refrigerant at a specialist car air conditioning service centre.
