To remove the manual transmission control cables, follow these steps:.
1. Disconnect the rear cable ends from the shift lever pin and joint (see "Removal and installation the gearbox control lever joint").
2. Remove the gear shift cable end from the gear shift lever shaft.
3. Remove the end of the cable sheath from the slot in the bracket on the gearbox.
4. Disconnect the second gear shift cable in the same manner.
5. Remove the end of the cable sheath from the slot in the bracket on the gearbox.
6. Remove the gear shift cables through the hole in the front shield between the passenger compartment and the engine compartment.
7. Install the manual transmission control cables and all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
