In the underhood…
... with a screwdriver pry off the cover of the upper support..
...and take it off.
Holding the shock absorber rod with a spanner wrench "by 9", with a z-shaped key "by 19", loosen the rod nut.
Disconnect the ball joint of the front suspension arm from the steering knuckle (see Removing the lever).
We derive the shank of the outer hinge of the wheel drive from the wheel hub (see Removing the front wheel drive).
Disconnect the outer tie rod end from the shock absorber pivot arm (see Replacing the outer tie rod end).
Subsequent operations to remove the shock absorber strut can be done in two ways.
So, with the first method, the shock absorber strut can be dismantled without removing the guide pads and the brake disc.
In this case, remove only the brake caliper of the front wheel (see "Replacing the protective cover and sealing ring of the front wheel brake piston) and tie it with a wire or cord to the brake pipe mounting bracket.
In the second method, we remove the guide pads with the caliper, tie them with wire or cord to the brake tube mounting bracket and remove the brake disc (see Front wheel brake disc replacement).
Do not depress the brake pedal after removing the guide pads and caliper, as the piston may be completely out of the cylinder.
Using the "12" head, unscrew the three nuts securing the upper support of the shock absorber strut to the body cup..
... and remove the rack.
We compress the spring with two couplers located diametrically opposite to each other.
After the spring stops pressing on the upper support cup, completely unscrew the stem nut.
We remove the upper support of the rack from the stem.
We take out a flat washer from the recess in the upper part of the support.
A disc-shaped washer with a bulge down is installed from below.
Remove the flat washer from the shock absorber rod.
Remove the upper support cup of the spring with a cover.
We remove the spring with ties..
...and a compression stroke buffer.
We take out the rubber gasket from the lower support cup of the spring.
Using a pipe wrench, unscrew the nut of the rack housing (you can also tighten the nut in a vise and turn the stand) …
... and remove the nut.
We remove the shock absorber from the strut housing.
We assemble and install the rack in reverse order.
We install a new shock absorber in the strut housing.
Replace the rack housing nut with a new one.
The worn bearing of the upper support is replaced together with the support.
We install the disc washer under the bearing of the upper support with the concave side up.
When installing the spring, the end of its lower coil must rest against the protrusion of the lower support cup of the rack..
... and the curly protrusion of the upper support cup of the spring should be directed towards the swing arm of the right strut and in the direction opposite to the lever of the left strut.
