We hang out and remove the wheel from the side of the replaced tip.
Turn the steering wheel all the way in the direction opposite to the tip to be removed.
The removal of the outer tip of the left tie rod is shown.
Using the "19" head, unscrew the nut securing the ball joint pin of the outer tip to the swing arm of the shock absorber strut.
Using a puller, press the ball joint pin out of the lever..
... and take the tip aside.
With the "12" head, we loosen the tightening of the bolt securing the terminal connection of the tie rod end.
Using a screwdriver, open the groove of the terminal connection of the tip.
Before removing the outer tip with a marker, mark its position relative to the adjusting screw or count the number of revolutions when the tip is unscrewed.
This is necessary so that when installing a new tip, the length of the steering rod remains the same, which will approximately maintain the toe angle.
Rotating, unscrew the outer tip from the adjusting screw (the thread on the right outer tip is left, and on the left is right).
Remove the outer tie rod end.
Remove the outer tip of the right tie rod in the same way.
The outer tips of the right and left steering rods are not interchangeable.
Install the outer tie rod end in reverse order.
We screw the new tip onto the adjusting screw to the marked position or count the number of revolutions determined when removing the old tip.
We tighten the coupling bolt of the terminal connection of the handpiece to the prescribed torque (see "Applications»).
The angle of convergence of the wheels is adjusted by turning the adjusting screw with a "17" key with the bolts of the terminal connections of the tie rod ends loosened (for clarity shown on the removed rod).
After installing the tie rod end, it is necessary to check and, if necessary, adjust the toe-in of the wheels on a special stand of the service station.
The tie rod lengths must be the same.
