Removal and installation the windshield wiper (Chevrolet Niva 1)

Repair of the wiper mainly consists of straightening deformed rods and levers or replacing them with new ones. It is recommended to replace a faulty gear motor with a new one. Of the repairs to the gear motor, only replacement of the gear reducer gear, cleaning of the collector and adjustment of the limit switch are allowed.

To remove the cleaner:

• remove the brushes with the levers by unscrewing the mounting nuts;
• open the hood and disconnect the wires from the battery;
• after unscrewing the fastening nut, remove the side trim;
• remove the decorative grille by unscrewing the mounting screws;
• in the engine compartment, unscrew the bolts securing the gearmotor bracket to the front shield;
• disconnect the wiring harness;
• remove the cleaner from the air intake box.

If necessary, remove the gear motor from the bracket on the workbench and disconnect the rods. Install the cleaner in the reverse order of removal.
