- drain the fluid from the radiator and cylinder block through the drain plugs in the left radiator tank and cylinder block; at the same time, open the heater tap and open the expansion tank cap;
- remove the air conditioner condenser according to the requirements of the subsection "Ventilation, air conditioning and heating of the passenger compartment";
- disconnect the hoses from the radiator;
- unscrew four bolts and remove covers 10 (see figure 2-59);
- unscrew the two bolts securing the radiator bracket 9 to the body and remove it together with the fans from the engine compartment;
- remove the casing of the two electric fans by unscrewing four bolts and one nut.
Checking the radiator for leaks. The radiator is checked for leaks in a bath of water.
After plugging the radiator pipes, supply air to it under a pressure of 0.2 MPa (2 kgf/cm²) and lower it into a bath of water for at least 30 s. No air bubbles should be observed.
If the radiator is damaged or leaking, replace it with a new one.
