  • Type - API SG, SG/CC or SG/CD
  • Viscosity - See diagram 1

Hydraulic fluid - ATF for automatic transmission Dexron II, IIE or III

Engine Coolant - A 50/50 mixture of water and ethylene glycol antifreeze

Brake fluid - Delco Supreme II or DOT 3

Hydraulic fluid for power steering — GM Fluid or equivalent

Capacities*



Motor oil (with filter replacement) — 4.0 quarts

Fuel tank - 20 gallons

Cooling system - 12 quarts

Drive axle in block with automatic transmission (with filter replacement):
  • Three stage - 4 quarts
  • Four stage - 6 quarts

*These are approximate capacity values. Top up to the required level.

Engine 3.1L - AC type R43TS or equivalent

Radiator cap valve opening pressure - 15 psi

Brake lining wear limit is 1/8 inch

Throttle Body Bolts and Nuts - 18

Engine oil drain plug - 15-20
