Air Filter Replacement (every 7,500 miles or 12 months) (Chevrolet Lumina 1)

1. The air filter should be replaced in accordance with the terms specified in the technical specifications. The filter must be checked between replacements.

2. The air filter is located inside its housing, located on the front of the engine, next to the battery. Unscrew the wing nut, lift the cover and remove the filter (see illustration).

3. Unscrew the 4 plastic wing nuts, pull the housing cover back, then remove the filter from its housing (see illustration).

4. When the filter housing cover is removed, be careful not to drop anything into the throttle body or the air filter itself.

5. Wipe the inside of the air filter housing with a clean cloth.

6. Place the new filter into the air filter housing. Make sure it is properly positioned on the bottom of the case. Install the top plate or cover.
