Main faults of window lifters
- when pressing the switch button the window lifter does not work;
- the front door glass does not open fully;
- the glass does not close completely;
- the glass is warped in the opening.
If it is impossible to control the front door windows, it is necessary to check the fuse Ef24 (30 A); if the rear door windows do not work, check the fuse Ef21 (30 A), which are located in the fuse and relay box of the engine compartment.
If the fuses are OK, but the electric window of one of the doors does not work at least in one direction, this is most likely caused by a malfunction of the electric window control unit; in rare cases, a malfunction may occur in the motor-reducer - for diagnostics and repair, contact a specialized service station.
Note: If only the passenger door windows do not work, they may be blocked from the control unit on the driver's door (child protection enabled).
Warning! It is prohibited to simultaneously turn on the control switches of the same electric window on the driver's control unit and on the door itself in different directions. If this happens, the electric window will stop working and you may have to go to a specialized service station to restore its functionality.
The glass may become distorted in the opening due to a foreign object getting into the glass guide frame. Deformation or wear of the window regulator guide may also make it difficult to move. In the latter case, it will be necessary to replace the faulty part or the entire window regulator assembly. The same faults can lead to the glass not closing completely.
Note: In winter, the window lift may not work due to the glass freezing to the guides or seal. In this case, it is advisable to place the car in a warm room to melt the ice. Once it is possible to move the glass, it should be lowered and its seals should be treated with a special silicone lubricant. Trying to lower a frozen window in freezing temperatures will damage the window lifter drive.
