Lubrication of body locks and hinges (Chevrolet Orlando 1)

To extend the service life of locks, hinges and door opening limiters, it is necessary to lubricate them periodically (at least twice a year - in autumn and spring). It is very convenient to use aerosol lubricant for these purposes. It is more expedient to combine the work with the treatment of door seals.

Lubrication is carried out in the following order.

1. Inject white lithium grease into the door lock switches (cylinder).



2. Lubricate the moving parts of the outer door handles with silicone grease.

3. After opening the door, apply lubricant to the lock mechanism...



...on the working surfaces of the door opening limiter...



...and on the hinges of the upper and lower door hinges.





4. Similarly, lubricate the mechanisms of all doors.

5. Open the hood and apply white lithium grease to the lock mechanism and the hood retainer, lubricate the hood hinges.

6. Open the trunk door, inject lubricant into its lock...



...and hinge joints.
