Lubricant
Hood hinges and locking mechanisms require periodic lubrication to function properly. For specific types of lubrication and lubrication intervals, see section 0B, General information
Clamps; connections; mounts
Note: Direct contact of dissimilar metals can lead to rapid corrosion. Use proper fasteners to prevent premature corrosion.
Existing models use a lot of aluminum components. When in contact with steel, aluminum can quickly corrode if it is not protected with special coatings or insulating materials.
The fasteners used have a special coating that provides adequate protection against corrosion. These specialty fasteners are color-coded to make it easier to distinguish them from the standard metric fastener, which is a mild blue color.
When replacing fasteners, replacement with similar fasteners in the same place should be avoided.
Anti-corrosion materials
To ensure corrosion resistance, anti-corrosion materials are applied to the inner surfaces of most of the metal panels. When servicing these panels, properly coat them with repair anti-corrosion material if the coating of the original materials has been compromised.
Front seal
During the manufacturing process, all leak points are sealed with high quality, durable sealants. If it becomes necessary to re-seal certain areas, a high-quality sealant of medium consistency should be used, which retains its plastic properties after drying and can be painted if necessary.
