
Key positions in the ignition switch:
0 - blocking. External lighting, audio system and emergency alarm are connected. The key can only be inserted or removed in this position.
When the key is removed, if you try to turn the steering wheel, the steering shaft is locked. To unlock the steering shaft, insert the key into the ignition switch and, slightly turning the steering wheel to the right and left, move the key to position 1.
Warning. When the vehicle is moving, do not turn off the engine or remove the key from the ignition, as this will lock the steering wheel and cause you to lose control of the vehicle.
1 - additional equipment is on, external lighting, hazard warning lights, audio system, cigarette lighter, steering wheel is unlocked.
2 — the ignition is on, the electrical circuits of all consumers are connected, except for the starter.
3 — starter is turned on. The engine starts. After starting the engine, release the key - it will automatically return to position 2.
Comment.
- On vehicles with a manual transmission, press the clutch pedal before turning the key to position 3!
- On a vehicle with an automatic transmission, the starter will only engage when the mode selector is in position P or N.
Warning. Do not allow the starter to operate for more than 10 seconds - this may cause the starter to fail.
