Towing with a rope (Chevrolet Orlando 1)

            0

Warning. It is prohibited to tow a vehicle with a towing rope if the brake system, steering, transmission and suspension components are faulty. The length of the cable should ensure a distance between cars of 4-6 meters.

The hole for installing the towing eye is located under the protective cover on the right side of the front bumper.

Warning. According to the requirements of the Road Traffic Regulations, a flexible connecting link (tow rope) must be marked with a warning device in the form of flags or shields, 200x200 mm in size, with alternating red and white stripes 50 mm wide applied diagonally with a reflective surface. There must be at least two of these flags (shields).

5. On cars with a manual transmission, engage neutral gear; on cars with an automatic transmission, set the selector to position N.

6. Turn on the ignition (the key in the ignition switch is in position 2). This will ensure that the light signaling system, front windshield wiper, and horn operate and prevent the steering wheel from locking while driving.

7. If the engine is in good condition, start it. When towing with the engine off, keep in mind that the brake booster and power steering will not work, so the effort applied to the brake pedal and steering wheel will increase.

8. Turn off the parking brake.

Warning. According to the Road Traffic Regulations, when towing, it is necessary to turn on the low beam headlights on the towing vehicle and the hazard warning lights on the towed vehicle.

Cars with automatic transmission can be towed for short distances (no more than 100 km) at a speed not exceeding 80 km/h. When towing beyond the permitted distance, the vehicle should be transported using the full loading method or partial loading with the front axle suspended (see below).
