Engine Overhaul — Assembly Sequence (Chevrolet Trailblazer 1)

1. Before starting assembly, make sure that you have the necessary spare parts, gaskets and seals. To perform the procedure, you also need the following:
  • A set of common hand tools
  • Torque wrench with 1/2 inch socket
  • New motor oil
  • Gasket Sealant
  • Anaerobic sealant

2. If a "truncated" block is purchased, it is necessary to install on it the cylinder head, the lubrication system pump and the oil intake pipe, the sump, the coolant system pump, the drive chain and the front engine cover, as well as the valve cover (see chapter 2A). In order to save time and avoid complications during the procedure, the external engine components must be installed in the sequence given.
  • Thermostat and casing
  • Cooling system pump
  • Intake and exhaust manifold
  • Elements of the injection system
  • Elements of the exhaust gas control system
  • Spark plugs and wires
  • Ignition coils
  • Oil filter
  • Engine mounts and their brackets
  • Clutch and flywheel (manual transmission)
  • Drive disk (automatic transmission)
