Examination
1. Raise the vehicle and support it on vertical stands.
2. Insert a large screwdriver or pry bar between the gearbox cover and the body support crossbar, pry and try to slightly lift the gearbox (see illustration).
7.2 To assess the condition of the supports, insert a large screwdriver or pry bar between the supporting lintel and the box and try to pry it up and move it; in this case, the presence of extremely minor movement should be noted
3. The movement of the box should be insignificant. If significant movement of the box is observed, this means that the supports have cracks or ruptures in the rubber elements. If necessary, the supports should be replaced.
Replacement
4. To replace the support, it is necessary to unscrew the bolts or nuts that secure it to the gearbox casing and the body crossbar (see illustrations).
7.4a. Gearbox support to crossbar mounting bolts
7.4b. Bolts for fastening the support to the gearbox
5. Support the box with a jack and remove the support.
6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Tighten the mounting bolts and nuts securely.
