Glass of the outside rear view mirror (Chevrolet Captiva 1)

Removal procedure

1. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery.



2. Adjust the mirror glass so that it is in a strictly vertical position.

3. Wrap the end of a flat-head screwdriver with tape or a clean cloth.

Note: The heating element is located behind the mirror glass and may be damaged when removing the mirror glass. Extreme caution must be taken when removing the mirror glass.

4. Insert a screwdriver into the slot on the inside of the mirror.

5. Carefully separate the mirror glass from the electric motor assembly, using a screwdriver as a lever.

6. Remove the outside rearview mirror glass.

7. Disconnect the mirror heating connector.

Installation procedure

1. Connect the mirror heating connector.

2. While supporting the mirror housing, press the mirror glass evenly into the electric motor assembly so that it snaps into place.

3. Connect the wire to the negative terminal of the battery.
