Repair of the supply wire in the braid of the rear hatch glass heating (Chevrolet Captiva 1)

The tailgate window heating bus terminal or lead wire can be reconnected by re-soldering. Use solder containing 3 percent silver and resin flux paste.

1. The repair area should be cleaned with fine steel wool before soldering the busbar lead wire.



2. Apply a small amount of paste resin flux to the wire terminal and to the repair area of the busbar supply wire using a brush.

3. Coat the tip of the soldering iron with solder. Use enough solder to ensure complete restoration.

4. The heating force should not exceed that required to melt the solder. Do not overheat the wire when soldering to the busbar lead wire.
