Rear hatch glass (Chevrolet Captiva 1)

Necessary equipment

Glass Seal Remover J-24402

Removal procedure

1. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.

2. Open the rear hatch.



3. Disconnect the rear window defroster electrical connector.



4. Remove the upper decorative molding of the rear hatch.

5. Remove the tailgate pillar. See section 9S "Front Body Part and Tailgate Pillar".

6. With the help of an assistant, unscrew the bolts and remove the rear hatch glass from the car.

Installation procedure

1. Install the rear hatch glass using bolts.

Tighten

Tighten the rear hatch glass bolts to 6 N·m (53 lbs.in).

2. Install the rear end door pillar. See section 9S "Front Body Part and Tailgate Pillar".

3. Install the upper tailgate trim molding.



4. Connect the rear window heating electrical connector.

5. Close the rear hatch.

6. Connect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery.
