Rear Tailgate Pillar (Chevrolet Captiva 1)

Removal procedure

1. Raise and support the tailgate in the open position.

2. Use a small flat blade tool to lift and partially release the spring clips on the strut.

3. Disconnect the upper end of the rack from the hinge.

4. Disconnect the lower end of the rack from the hinge.

5. Remove the pillar from the rear hatch.

Installation procedure

1. Place the stand on the rear hatch.

2. Attach the top end of the stand to the hinge. Press it down to fully seat it.

3. Attach the lower end of the stand to the hinge. Press it down to fully seat it.

4. Remove the support from under the tailgate.

5. Close the rear hatch.
